DMK leader Udhayanidhi Stalin was detained in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, after Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) filed complaints with the police and the National Commission for Women (NCW) over his remarks allegedly directed at actress Trisha Krishnan during a public meeting.
The complaint was lodged by S. Bairavi, TVK's Central District Women's Wing Organiser for Thanjavur, at the Thanjavur East Police Station. Following the complaint, Tamil Nadu Police deployed heavy security outside the residence where Stalin was staying before detaining him.
