External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has called abrogation of Article 370 from Kashmir one of the big achievements of the Modi government. Jaishankar asserted that terrorist incidents have come down in Kashmir after Article 370 purge which was recently upheld by the Supreme Court. He opined that the Kashmir of today is “very different”, calling it “Kashmir of tourism and economic growth”. Article 370, which gave a special status to J&K, was abrogated on August 5, 2019, and the erstwhile state was downgraded to a union territory.
