After India, Islamabad holds meet on Afghanistan; China, US, Russia to attend

After India held NSA talks in New Delhi to discuss the Afghanistan situation, Pakistan holds meet on Thursday. China confirmed that it will attend the “extended troika” meeting in Pakistan as senior officials from the US, and Russia will join the meeting. Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Pakistan National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf to chair the “troika plus” meeting. This comes after China and Pakistan both skipped India’s meeting on Afghanistan. This also comes at a time when India and China are engaged in a military standoff at eastern Ladakh.
