European Union has pledged $1.2 billion aid to Afghanistan in a bid to avert the humanitarian assistance in the war-ravaged country that is now currently being ruled by Islamist Taliban since August 2021. The EU however said that the aid would not be given to Taliban government but international aid organisations working in Afghanistan. The announcement was made in the wake of UN chief's appeal to countries to help Afghan people and amid a meeting of Taliban foreign minister with EU envoys in Qatar. Watch this report for more.
