Caught on cam | Woman trapped in a deadly rip current rescued
A rescue crew saved a woman who was trapped in a dangerous rip current off Australia’s Gold Coast. The helicopter rescue crew spotted the woman in her 50s in an unpatrolled area outside the red and yellow flags, which indicate the area is under the watch of lifesavers. Rip currents are strong currents of water flowing away from shore. There are as many as 17,000 rip currents a day at beaches around Australia.
