German police launched a major security operation after suspected improvised rocket-launch devices were reportedly discovered near a power substation close to the Weisweiler power plant in western Germany. Authorities temporarily closed part of the A4 motorway and began searching for a 48-year-old man from Gevelsberg, who allegedly claimed responsibility for a series of attempted attacks on electricity infrastructure. No major blackout was immediately reported. Police are investigating possible links to similar suspected sabotage incidents near Bergheim, Dormagen and Jänschwalde.
