India, US begin Yudh Abhyas 2025 in Alaska amid tariff tensions and Arctic drill

Despite escalating trade tensions over U.S. tariffs, India and the United States launched the 21st edition of the joint military exercise “Yudh Abhyas 2025” at Fort Wainwright, Alaska, on September 2, 2025. The massive two-week drill, involving U.S. Army Pacific Command’s 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment “Bobcats” and India’s 65th Infantry Brigade, features live-fire artillery, combined tactical operations, and specialized training in Arctic conditions.
