Iran has begun sweeping investigation in connection with the assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh. The New York Times on August 3 reported citing two Iranian officials that more than two dozen people, including senior intelligence officers, military officials, and staff workers at a military-run guesthouse in Tehran, have been arrested. The crackdown came in response to an alleged security breach that led to the killing of Haniyeh on July 31.
