As Ukraine marked 31st Independence Day, Russia rained rockets and missile as it continued to wage war. Ukraine has now claimed that a Russian missile and rocket attack killed 22 civilians and set a passenger train on fire in eastern Ukraine. President Volodymyr Zelensky had warned of the risk of 'repugnant Russian provocations' ahead of the 31st anniversary on Wednesday. Ukraine's independence from Moscow-dominated Soviet rule, where public celebrations were cancelled in Kyiv, coincided with six months since Russian forces invaded Ukraine.
