Benazir Bhutto was the daughter of politician Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, who was the leader of Pakistan from 1971 till 1977. She became the first female leader of a Muslim nation and served two terms as the prime minister of Pakistan. She returned to Pakistan from her self-imposed exile in October 2007 after President Pervez Musharraf signed an amnesty lifting corruption charges.
