Watch | 1,600-year old Roman cargo found off Israel’s coast
Parts of statues, oil lamps and around 20 kilograms of coins from the Roman era have been found from an ancient shipwreck off the coast of Israel. The merchant ship sank in the Mediterranean some 1,600 years ago. There have been marine excavations in Caesarea before. But nothing quite like this has been found. Jacaob Sharvit of the Israel Antiquities Authority says the findings paint a picture of a rich life.
