A zoo in Japan is allowing visitors observe how elephants paddle their legs underwater to swim across water bodies in the wild. The Fuji Safari Park in Shizuoka at the foot of Mount Fuji has built a gigantic swimming pool with glass walls. The pool is 65 meters long, the approximate width of a river the elephants may need to cross if they were living in the wild, and has glass paneling to allow spectators to see for themselves how elephants paddle their legs underwater.
