Ukraine war: Putin has said there is threat to Ukraine's statehood.

More than 11,000 Russian troops have been killed so far, Ukraine has said as fighting continues on the eleventh day of Moscow's offensive. Fierce battles have been reported on the edge of the southern city of Mykolaiv near key Black Sea city of Odessa in the west. In the port city of Mariupol, shelling resumed after a brief ceasefire on Saturday, news agency AFP reported. There have been worldwide appeals of allowing humanitarian corridors to civilians stuck in major cities of Ukraine that have come under attack from the Kremlin.

Here are the latest updates on the Ukraine war in 10 points:

1. Despite Moscow's denials that civilians are being targeted, tens of thousands of people in major cities remain at risk. More than 1.5 million people in the war-hit country have been displaced so far, according to the United Nations. The refugee crisis is growing at an enormous scale.

2. Health facilities are also being targeted in Ukraine, the WHO has said. On Twitter, WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus wrote: "WHO has confirmed several attacks on health care in #Ukraine, causing multiple deaths and injuries. Additional reports are being investigated. Attacks on healthcare facilities or workers breach medical neutrality and are violations of international humanitarian law. #NotATarget (sic).

3. "A very tough war. With heavy losses of the aggressor. As of the morning of March 6, Russia lost about 11,000 servicemen, about 300 tanks, more than 40 aircraft & 48 helicopters. Dozens of artillery systems were destroyed. Ukrainians did all this in 10 days. And they will do more (sic)," an advisor to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy tweeted on Sunday.

4. Ukraine's Starokostiantyniv military air base was targeted with precision weapons on Sunday, Reuters quoted Russian defence ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov as saying. "The Russia armed forces continue to strike the military infrastructure of Ukraine. Strikes were carried out by high-precision long-range weapons. The Ukrainian air force base near Starokostiantyniv was disabled," he said.

5. In Mariupol, where there is no water or power, the operation to evacuate citizens was hampered when Moscow resumed shelling after a brief ceasefire. Doctors Without Borders call the situation "catastrophic".

6. UK military inteligence on Sunday said the strength of the resistance in populated areas of Ukraine - targeted by the Kremlin - was slowing Moscow's advance.

7. The Ukrainian president has sought help from the West for fighter jets. He also spoke with US President Joe Biden on Sunday. "As part of the constant dialogue, I had another conversation with @POTUS . The agenda included the issues of security, financial support for Ukraine and the continuation of sanctions against Russia (sic)," he tweeted.

8. Blasts were heard overnight in the second largest city of Kharkiv as defence operations were conducted in the eastern cities of Donetsk and Chernihiv.

9. "The main body of the large Russian column advancing on Kyiv remains over 30km from the centre of the city having been delayed by staunch Ukrainian resistance, mechanical breakdown and congestion," Britain's military intelligence said in an update.

10. Russia's Vladimir Putin on Saturday said that Ukraine's statehood is at risk blaming Kyiv for the fighting.
