EU seeks to reduce cookie pop-up banners on websites

The EU executive said Wednesday it wants to change its rules to slash the number of cookie banners Europeans see without putting their data privacy at risk.

The European Commission said proposed changes would “allow users to indicate their consent with one-click and save their cookie preferences through central settings of preferences in browsers and operating system.”
