Israel Iran war news: As the conflict escalates, the IDF has reported several missiles towards northern Israel, sounding air raid sirens. 

“At the time, IAF is operating to intercept and strike to eliminate the threat,” the IDF added further.

Israel Iran war news: Iran said on Monday that the US attack on its nuclear sites expanded the range of legitimate targets for its armed forces as the world braces for Tehran's retaliation. 

Ebrahim Zolfaqari, spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters, said the US should expect heavy consequences for its actions.

"Mr Trump, the gambler, you may start this war, but we will be the ones to end it," Zolfaqari said in English at the end of a recorded video statement.

Iran Israel war news: Iranian foreign minister Abbas Araghchi is on a visit to Moscow. The foreign minister's visit to Russia comes a day after the US struck three nuclear sites in Iran.

As per TASS agency, the Iranian leader is set to meet with President Vladimir Putin.

Iran Israel war news: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Sunday that Israel is "very close" to achieving its goals in Iran, having inflicted significant damage to its ballistic missile program and its nuclear facilities, The Times of Israel reported.

"We won't pursue our actions beyond what is needed to achieve [the goals], but we also won't finish too soon," said Netanyahu, adding that Israel will stop “when the objectives are achieved.” 

Amid rising tensions with Iran, the US has issued a new advisory for citizens warning of an "elevated threat environment" within the country. The notice, issued by US department of Homeland security (DHS), comes a day after US military struck three key nuclear sites in Iran.

"The ongoing Iran conflict is causing a heightened threat environment in the United States. Low-level cyber attacks against US networks by pro-Iranian hacktivists are likely, and cyber actors affiliated with the Iranian government may conduct attacks against US networks,” the DHS bulletin said.

Iran Israel war news: The Israeli military has claimed it struck six airports acruss Iran which were used as launch and storage sites for surface - to-surface missiles 

“More than 15 Air Force fighter jets recently attacked, with precise intelligence guidance from the Intelligence Directorate,” the IDF wrote on its Hebrew account on X. 

"The IDF continues to intensify its attacks on the military capabilities of the Iranian regime and will continue to work to achieve air superiority in order to maintain the security of the State of Israel,' it added. 

Israel Iran war news: The Israeli military said that it carried out air strikes on at least six airports in western, eastern and central Iran.

In a statement posted on its Hebrew account on X, the IDF said the strikes “damaged runways, underground bunkers, a refueling plane, and F-14, F-5, and AH-1 aircraft belonging to the Iranian regime." 

“The Air Force disrupted the ability to take off from these airports and the operation of the Iranian army’s air power from them.”

Israel Iran war news: Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has called on the world to increase pressure on Israel to “stop its provocative and violent actions against other nations."

“When they launch attacks and kill the people of Iran, there will inevitably be retaliation. Our position is one of fairness,” he was quoted as saying by Free Malaysia Today. 

“In Gaza, the killings continue and it includes women and children. Now Israel is attacking Iran, which has decided to fight back. The involvement of outside powers, including the US, is only worsening the situation. The question is, if Iran is not allowed to respond, why allow Israel to (continue) acting in such a manner?" he added.

Iran Israel war news: The Israeli Air Force has stated it is currently arrying out strikes on military infrastructure in Iran;s Kermanshah.

Iran executed a detainee named Mohammadamin Shayesteh who had been sentenced to death for collaborating with Israel's intelligence agency Mossad, semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Monday.

Shayesteh had been arrested in late 2023 and was described by Tasnim as "the head of a cyber-team affiliated with Mossad."

According to a Fox News report, US airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear installations have put authorities in New York and Washington on high alert.

Iran Israel war news: The Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant in Iran was one of the three nuclear facilities the US military struck on Sunday as it got directly involved in the Israel-Iran conflict.

However, two Israeli officials have told the New York Times that Iran had moved a significant amount of uranium and other equipment from the Fordow plant before the US strikes.

Uranium in 400 kg in quantity and enriched to 60 per cent purity, barely short of the weapons-grade levels of 90 per cent, was reportedly moved from the enrichment plant as the Trump administration sought time to decide if the US would send ground troops to Iran.

Israel Iran war news update: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has expressed support for the US strike on Iran. 

“The world has long agreed that Iran cannot be allowed to get a nuclear weapon, and we support action to prevent that,” Albanese told reporters in Canberra, adding that the “the information has been clear” about Iran's enriched uranium reaching 60 percent. 

"There is no other explanation for it to reach 60, other than engaging in a programme that wasn’t about civilian nuclear power. Had Iran complied with the very reasonable requests that were made, including by the IAEA, then circumstances would have been different,” Albanese added. 

Iran Israel news: North Korea has "strongly condemned" the US strike against Iran as a grave violation of a sovereign state's security interests and territorial rights. 

"(We) strongly denounces the attack on Iran by the U.S. which ... violently trampled down the territorial integrity and security interests of a sovereign state," the unnamed spokesperson said in a statement carried by KCNA news agency.

"The just international community should raise the voice of unanimous censure and rejection against the U.S. and Israel's confrontational acts," the statement said.

Iran Israel war news: Japan has called for the de-escalation of the conflict in Iran and Israel. 

Backing the US, Japan stated Trump's strikes demonstrated Washington's “determination” to prevent Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

"Japan continues to strongly hope that the path to dialogue will be reopened by efforts toward a resolution of Iran's nuclear issue through talks between the U.S. and Iran," said Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya in a statement.

Iran Israel war LIVE: France will be sending a military A400M aircraft to Israel to evacuate its citizens. These flights will operate alongside the chartered civilian flights already operating. 

As pr the foreign and defence ministries, the nationals evacuated from Israel on the military flights will be brought to Cyprus, where they will make their way back to Paris. Around 250,000 French citizens live in Israel.

Iran Israel war: The Israeli military stated it has intercepted a drone headed towards the the southern city of Eilat. 

It did not say where it originated. 

Israel Iran war LIVE: US President Donald Trump is expected to meet his national security team on Monday at 1 pm to discuss the results of the strike on three nuclear facilities in Iran.

Iran israel war news: Iran's UN Ambassador Amir Saeid Iravani told an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council that Iran will respond.  

“Iran had repeatedly warned the warmongering US regime to refrain from stumbling into this quagmire," he said, adding that the US “decided to destroy diplomacy” with its strikes on Iran's nuclear sites. 

"The Iranian military will decide the timing, nature and scale of Iran's proportionate response. We will take all measures necessary,” the envoy told the meeting.

Iran Israel news: In his latest Truth Social post, Trump has claimed the US strikes on three Iranian nuclear site have brought about “monumental damage." 

“Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term! The white structure shown is deeply imbedded into the rock, with even its roof well below ground level, and completely shielded from flame. The biggest damage took place far below ground level. Bullseye!!!” wrote the US president. 

Iran Israel war news: Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed punishment for Israel as tensions continue to escalate after the US struck three nuclear facilities in Iran on Sunday. Taking to X, the official handle of the Iranian leader vowed to intensify attacks against Tel Aviv, but made no mention of the US attacks.

OIl prices continue to surge as the Israel-Iran conflict escalates. As per AFP, Brent and the main US crude contract WTI both jumped more than four percent to hit their highest price since January.

Economists at MUFG have warned of "high uncertainty of the outcomes and duration of this war", giving a "scenario analysis" of an oil price increase of $10 per barrel. 

The oil prices are expected to climb further as Iran moves to close the Strait of Hormuz.

Israel Iran news: Iran has moved to block the Strait of Hormuz in response to the US attacks on three nuclear sites. As per state media, the Iranian parliament has approved the closure of the key strait and is now awaiting approval from Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.

The Strait of Hormuz is a crucial maritime passage handling 20% of the world's oil and gas transportation.

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong expressed support for US president Donald Trump’s decision to attack Iran. While backing the strikes, the Australian leader called for immedaite de-escalation. 

“We support action that the US has taken to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon,” Wong told Australia’s 7News broadcaster. “Iran cannot be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.”

“We do call for diplomacy, de-escalation and dialogue because the world does not want to see full-scale war in the Middle East,” she said.
