Israel Iran war live: Israeli media reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with US President Donald Trump by phone. 

According to Axios, Netanyahu informed Trump that Israel would reduce the scale of its bombing campaign instead of calling it off entirely. Netanyahu’s office has not yet issued a formal statement.

Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz stated that he had instructed the military to carry out additional strikes on targets in Tehran. He said this was in response to Iranian missile launches, which he described as a "blatant violation" of the ceasefire.

Iran, however, denied firing any missiles and claimed that Israeli airstrikes had continued for 90 minutes beyond the agreed ceasefire start time.

Israel Iran war live: Both Iranian and Israeli media on Tuesday reported that Israel carried out fresh airstrikes on Iranian territory, even though US President Donald Trump had earlier stated that Israel had cancelled the attacks following his directive to uphold a newly declared ceasefire.

According to Iran’s judiciary-linked outlet Mizan, two explosions were heard in Tehran, while Israeli army radio claimed that an Iranian radar facility near the capital was targeted.

The reported strikes occurred just minutes after Trump announced that Israel had agreed to stand down at his request.

Israel Iran war live: Donald Trump strongly criticised Israel on Tuesday for its military actions following the announcement of a ceasefire, accusing both Israel and Iran of breaching the agreement shortly after it was made public.

"I didn't like the fact that Israel unloaded right after we made the deal. They didn't have to unload and I didn't like the fact that the retaliation was very strong," Trump told reporters on Tuesday.

Israel Iran war live: Former United Nations nuclear weapons inspector David Albright has assessed that the joint US and Israeli strikes on Iran's nuclear sites have “destroyed” the country’s centrifuge program, which is essential for enriching uranium to near weapons-grade levels, CNN reported.

Albright, who currently heads the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS), told CNN that after analysing satellite imagery and speaking with sources familiar with Iran’s nuclear program, he believes Iran’s centrifuge infrastructure has been “destroyed” as a result of the strikes targeting three nuclear facilities.

Israel Iran war live: President Donald Trump said that Israeli fighter jets would "turn around" and halt their attacks on Iran, affirming that the ceasefire between the two countries was "in effect," following a brief breakdown in the truce.

"ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran," Trump posted on social media, urging both nations to honour the ceasefire. "Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!”

Earlier in the day, speaking to reporters at the White House before leaving for the NATO summit in The Hague, Trump had voiced frustration that fighting had continued past the agreed-upon ceasefire deadline.

The blasts occurred shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump urged Israel to refrain from bombing Iran, following the announcement of a ceasefire earlier in the day.

Confirming the truce, Trump declared that a ceasefire between Iran and Israel was now "in effect." In a post on his Truth Social platform, he wrote: "ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly 'Plane Wave' to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect!"

His comments came shortly after he told reporters at the White House that he was "really unhappy" with Israel for violating the agreement.
