The deputy head of Hamas tells Al Jazeera that no prisoner exchange with Israel will take place until the war on Gaza is over.

Amid the ongoing war in Gaza, Hamas claimed on Saturday that it had targeted a group of Israeli foot soldiers stationed northwest of Gaza city in the area of Al Tawam, "resulting in deaths and injuries," reported Reuters.

An Israeli military spokesperson said that humanitarian aid trucks entered Gaza on Saturday. Notably, since the resumption of war on Friday, many aid trucks were stranded on Egyptian side of Rafah crossing.

"Throughout the day several trucks - tens of trucks - have come into Gaza after being security cleared on the Israeli side," Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner told a briefing with journalists.

A senior adviser to Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday that Israel will facilitate provision of humanitarian aid to Gaza's civilians as fighting there resumes, reported Reuters.

A team from Israel's Mossad intelligence services attened a meeting with Qatari mediators in Doha on Saturday. The talks were aimed at restarting truce between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Notably, Qatar is a key mediator amid the war in Gaza.

According to a report by ANI, 2100 terrorists have been arrested by Israel, in areas outside of Gaza since the start of war between Israel and Hamas. 1100 of the arrested terrorists are associated with Hamas.

Israel accuses Hamas of doing multiple cease-fire violations. The official account of Israel reiterated their vow to dismantle Hamas.

On Saturday, Lebanon's Hezbollah claimed that it fired at Israeli position using rockets after the end of truce between Israel and Hamas.

The truce ended on Friday and Israel resumed its offensive in Gaza. More than 200 Palestinians have died since the end of truce.

According to a report by Reuters, Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan said that chance for peace in Gaza conflict was lost for now due to Israel's uncompromising approach.

Notably, war between Israel and Hamas resumed on Friday after negotiations to extend the truce failed.

A protester is in critical condition after setting themself on fire outside the Israeli consulate in Atlanta, the Associated Press reported, citing authorities. A security guard who tried to intervene was also injured.

So far, authorities have not released the name, age or gender of the protester.
