South Korea plane crash Highlights: A Jeju Air plane veered off the runway and collided with a fence in South Korea's Muan city on Sunday. Out of the 181 passengers, 179 are feared killed. The authorities have so far confirmed 177 deaths from the accident, with only two flight attendants surviving.

The incident took place when Jeju Air flight 7C2216, carrying 175 passengers and six crew on a flight from Bangkok, was landing around 9 am (local time).

The government of South Korea has announced seven days of national mourning for the victims and their bereaved families.

The incident comes close on the heels of the Azerbaijan Airline plane crash which took place near Kazakhstan's Aktau last week, killing 38 of the 67 people on board and leaving all others injured.
