Khamenei burial LIVE updates: Large crowds gathered in Mashhad ahead of Ali Khamenei's funeral procession, chanting slogans calling for revenge against US President Donald Trump over his killing.

“I swear by the blood of the Supreme Leader, Trump, we will kill you!” the crowd shouted, while women held placards that read "Kill Trump".

Khamenei's remains, along with those of four members of his family who were killed with him, have already been taken through Tehran, the Shi'ite Muslim religious centre of Qom, and the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.

US-Iran war LIVE: Iran's health ministry said on Thursday that US strikes carried out over the past two days had killed 14 people and injured 78 others.

"Of the injured, 47 are still hospitalised and the rest have been discharged after receiving medical care," Hossein Kermanpour, the ministry's head of public relations, posted on X.

US-Iran war LIVE: Iran's foreign ministry on Thursday condemned the latest US strikes on the country, describing them as a "gross war crime".

It said the attacks had hit civilian infrastructure, including railway bridges.

In a statement, the ministry said it "condemns in the strongest terms the aggressive attacks by the US terrorist army on several points in the southern coastal provinces and two bridges in the eastern provinces on the railway route to the holy city of Mashhad".

It also described the US administration as "evil and psychopathic".

US-Iran war LIVE: According to an AFP correspondent in Bahrain's capital, Manama, explosions were heard on Thursday as air raid sirens sounded for the third time, several hours after overnight Iranian attacks.

"The siren has been sounded... Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place," the interior ministry said in a post on X.

Khamenei burial LIVE updates: A plane carrying the coffin of Iran's late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei arrived in the eastern holy city of Mashhad on Thursday ahead of his burial, according to state media.

Iran's official news agency IRNA released footage showing the Mahan Air aircraft taxiing after landing in Khamenei's hometown.

His body was flown from Iraq, where funeral ceremonies had been held in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.

US-Iran war LIVE: US military officials said on Wednesday that their latest strikes hit around 90 Iranian military sites, including air defence systems, missile and drone storage facilities, and other military assets.

The US "completed an additional round of strikes against Iran, July 8, to further degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping and innocent civilian mariners in the Strait of Hormuz," United States Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement posted on X.

A day earlier, the US military said it had carried out strikes on more than 80 targets, including Iranian speedboats, in response to Iran's attacks on vessels passing through the strategically important Strait of Hormuz.

US-Iran war LIVE: Iran's foreign ministry on Thursday summoned Britain's ambassador in Tehran, protesting what it described as "baseless accusations" linking Tehran to security-related activities in the UK, reported news agency Reuters.

According to Iran's state news agency IRNA, foreign ministry official Alireza Yousefi handed over a formal protest note, accusing London of attempting to deflect attention from other issues and urging the UK to stop hosting what Iran called "terrorist networks" targeting the country.

The move comes days after Britain summoned Iran's charge d'affaires in London following the conviction of two Romanian nationals over the 2024 stabbing of a British-Iranian journalist.

British authorities said the attack was carried out on behalf of the Iranian state, a claim that Tehran has strongly denied. Reuters reported that Iran rejected the allegations and maintained that the accusations were unfounded.

US-Iran war LIVE: Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani told Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi in a phone call on Thursday that Iran and the United States should commit to diplomacy.

Al-Thani added that the Washington and Tehran should implement the signed memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war, the Qatari foreign minister said.

Iran launched drones towards a site in Qatar earlier on Thursday and a Qatari tanker was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz earlier the week. Al-Thani condemned the attack in the call, the foreign ministry said.

US-Iran war LIVE: Iranian television reported that the burial ceremony of Ali Khamenei, Iran's late supreme leader, which was expected to take place on Thursday morning in Mashhad, was delayed because of the large crowds that gathered in Iraq's Najaf and Karbala on Wednesday.

The funeral ceremony in Mashhad is now scheduled for 2:30 pm local time (4:30 pm IST).

US-Iran war LIVE: Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani received a phone call from Iran's foreign minister Abbas Araghchi, according to an official statement.

During the call, the Qatar PM told the Iranian minister that Doha supports all efforts to contain the escalation, the statement said.

The Qatar PM also told Araghchi that he condemns the attacks on ships in the Strait of Hormuz, according to the statement.

US-Iran war LIVE: France's foreign minister Jean-Noel Barrot said on Thursday that Iran had brought the latest US strikes upon itself by breaking the terms of the ceasefire agreement.

"It was Iran that, by targeting ships sailing in Omani waters, violated its own commitments as well as international law," Barrot told TF1 television when asked about the latest United States strikes.

"Iran violated the agreement reached with the United States" last month, Barrot added, while urging both sides to avoid further escalation.

"This type of manoeuvre must absolutely stop so that these crucial negotiations can continue under the best possible conditions," he said.

US-Iran war LIVE: Iran's military said it launched one-way attack drones at sites in Kuwait, Qatar and Bahrain on Thursday, according to state media. The strikes were described as retaliation for the US attacks carried out earlier in the day.

The military said the operation was "in continuation of the attacks by the Islamic Republic of Iran's army on US bases in the region".

It claimed to have targeted a Patriot missile interceptor system in Kuwait, an early warning system in Qatar and fuel storage tanks in Bahrain using "a large number of various types of army kamikaze drones".

The burial in Mashhad, Khamenei's hometown, will mark the final stage of the multi-day funeral. The former Iranian leader, who ruled for more than three decades, lay in state in Tehran before funeral processions passed through the Iranian capital and the Iraqi holy cities of Najaf and Karbala.

Khamenei was killed in the US-Israeli strikes on February 28 that triggered West Asia war.

US-Iran war LIVE: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday claimed Iran was eager to reach an agreement with Washington but questioned whether Tehran could be trusted to stick to any future deal.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One at Royal Air Force Mildenhall in the United Kingdom, Trump claimed the US had already secured a military victory over Iran and said the country had very "little left". He also claimed that Iranian leaders reached out to negotiate after US forces launched another round of strikes against the country.

"We have already won militarily. They have very little left... They called a little while ago. They want to make a deal so badly. I just don't know if they're worthy of making a deal. I don't know that they're going to honour the deal," he said.

Responding to a follow-up question about Iran's attack on commercial vessels, which raised doubts over Tehran's willingness to reach an agreement with the US, Trump said, "They are sort of crazy...They're a little bit out of control. But they want to make a deal. Badly."

US-Iran war LIVE: Oil prices rose by more than 1 per cent on Thursday after the United States launched another round of strikes on Iran, weakening hopes of negotiations to end the conflict and delaying expectations of the full reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route that carried around one fifth of global oil supplies before the war.

Brent crude futures gained 86 cents, or 1.1 per cent, to $78.88 a barrel by 0352 GMT. United States West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 85 cents, or 1.2 per cent, to $74.37 a barrel, news agency Reuters reported.

Both Brent and West Texas Intermediate crude advanced by more than a dollar in after-hours trading on Wednesday after the US military began its latest wave of strikes on Iran.

Iranian authorities are expected to bury the late Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Mashhad on Thursday. However, it was not immediately clear whether the bridge in Golestan was one of the two mentioned by the IRGC.

The report cited a senior security official from the Khuzestan Governor's Office.

The official said medical and emergency response teams had been dispatched to the area and added that authorities were continuing to assess the full extent of the damage.

US-Iran war LIVE: Shipping activity through the Strait of Hormuz almost came to a halt on Thursday after the United States carried out a second consecutive day of strikes on Iran, raising fresh doubts over the stability of the fragile truce between the two countries.

Ship-tracking data showed that most vessel movements through the crucial global energy route were taking place along a route approved by Iran closer to the northern side of the strait, while the Oman corridor, backed by the US, saw little activity, Bloomberg reported.

Among the larger vessels, only a US-sanctioned supertanker leaving the Persian Gulf and an Iranian-flagged container ship were observed passing through the strait. However, it remains possible that some ships crossed the waterway with their transponders switched off.

Earlier in the day, Trump said the latest exchange of attacks was not expected to turn into a "long-term" military campaign.

US-Iran war LIVE: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the strikes on Bahrain and Kuwait were carried out in response to attacks on Iran's southern coastal provinces and on "two bridges in the eastern provinces towards the holy city of Mashhad".

Mashhad is the city where Iran's slain Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is due to be buried later on Thursday.

The IRGC claimed the US launched the attacks in an attempt to overshadow what it described as the "historic" funeral ceremony.

It also warned that if the US carries out further attacks, Iran's "crushing responses would be expanded to include other American bases in the region".
