Queen Rania of Jordan has lashed out at the Western world leaders for showing “glaring double standards” as the death toll rises amid the Israel-Gaza conflict. Calling them “complicit,” she accused them of blatantly supporting Israel's attack on Hamas and “aiding and abetting” the killing of Palestinians. She also called Israel an “apartheid regime,” that “occupies, oppresses and commits daily documented crimes against Palestinians.”

Israel declared a complete siege on Gaza on October 7 after the terror attacks led by Hamas militants. In the aftermath of the siege, multiple airstrikes have been launched on Gaza, leading to numerous casualties. Arguing about Israel's actions, Queen Rania said, “This is the first time in modern history that there is such human suffering and the world is not even calling for a cease-fire,” adding, “So the silence is deafening and to many in our religion, it makes the western world complicit…through their support and through the cover that they give Israel that it’s just right to defend itself,” as per CNN.

“Are we being told that it is wrong to kill a family, an entire family, at gunpoint, but it’s OK to shell them to death? I mean, there is a glaring double standard here. It is just shocking to the Arab world,” the Jordan monarch said. Her criticism comes after Israel's bombing of Gaza in response to the Hamas attack that left over 1400 dead. Calling the Israel-led attack a “butchery,” of Palestinians, she inquired, “Six thousand civilians killed so far, 2,400 children – how is that self-defence?” She also expressed her country's sorrow over the situation, saying, “I cannot begin to describe to you the depth of the grief, the pain and the shock that we are feeling here in Jordan.”

Queen Razia then went on to call out U.S. President Joe Biden over his response to the claims about babies being beheaded. She said, “When the President of the United States is told that he has evidence he has seen evidence of children beheaded, only to retract it because the IDF said that there's no proof of that. That is confirmation bias,” as per the Daily Mail. She also slammed CNN, saying, “Even at your network Christiane, the CNN website, at the beginning of the conflict reported a headline about Israeli children found butchered in an Israeli kibbutz. And when you read through the story, that's not hasn't been independently verified.”
