When and where
The shooting occurred at about 7:30 pm local time on Friday (5 am Saturday morning in India) at the Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington, about 65 miles north of Seattle.

The Cascade Mall is an enclosed shopping mall that opened in 1990, according to the mall’s website. It features J.C. Penney, TJ Maxx, and Macy’s stores, among other stores, restaurants and a movie theatre.
Casualties
According to latest reports, four females were killed in the incident.
Authorities initially said four people were killed, then said three were dead, before revising the number again. Francis said the number fluctuated as authorities searched the large Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington.
Suspect
According to police there is at least one suspect in the shooting who is a “Hispanic male wearing black or grey shirt”. He was last seen walking toward the Interstate 5 highway from the mall before police arrived.
Witnesses
Witnesses told KOMO News that a shooter walked into Macy’s department store and opened fire. Nearby businesses were evacuated, the television station added.
An employee at a restaurant near the mall said they “immediately locked the doors” when they heard of the mayhem. Stephanie Bose, an assistant general manager at Johnny Carino’s Italian restaurant near Cascade Mall in Burlington, Washington, told The Associated Press the shooting happened inside the Macy’s department store.
Status
The mall was evacuated, police swarmed the area and medics rushed to the scene to help the wounded after the mall was initially placed on lockdown and cleared.
Multiple law enforcement agencies and sniffer dogs were searching for the suspect.
Francis said survivors were being transported by bus to a nearby church.
