Venezuela's state oil company says an explosion at a major oil refinery killed one worker and injured three others.
Petroleos de Venezuela SA says the explosion, which caused a fire, affected one unit of the Petrocedeno facility.
The company says in a statement that Sunday's explosion was brought under control and refining operations resumed shortly afterward.
National Guard General Alejandro Keleris said residents living near the refinery were evacuated as part of precautionary efforts.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the explosion.
