At least 30 Shiite pilgrims were killed and 25 wounded on Friday in a suicide bombing south of the Iraqi capital, police told AFP.

The attack took place in Iskandiriyah, a town 40 kilometres (25 miles) south of Baghdad, said Alaa al-Husseini, a police lieutenant from the nearby city of Hilla.
"Thirty pilgrims were killed and 25 wounded by a suicide bomber," he said.
