Security forces engaged a militant position near Gani Khel in Shakai sector of Waziristan, killing two militants and injuring two more, the military said.

Two militants were gunned down by soldiers during a search operation at Ghariom in Razmak sector.

Militants attacked troops near Sararogha in Jandola sector with rockets and small arms, though there were no reports of casualties. The troops "effectively responded" to the attack, the military said.

Security forces also conducted search and clearance operations in Jandola, Shakai and Razmak sectors and recovered communication equipment and cleared 61 militant-held compounds.

In the troubled Swat valley, security forces apprehended seven militants during a search and clearance operation at Katlang.
