Afghan president skips UN talks

Afghan President Hamid Karzai is not attending this year's UN General Assembly, Afghan officials confirmed today after his name was struck from the day's list of speakers.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai is not attending this year's UN General Assembly, Afghan officials confirmed today after his name was struck from the day's list of speakers. "He is not coming. Afghanistan will be represented at the
UN General Assembly by the minister of foreign affairs, Rangin Dadfar Spanta," an official said.
