Balochis deny foreign hand

Baloch nationalists have strongly rejected Pakistan interior minister Rehman Malik’s statement that the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), the Baloch Republican Army (BRA), the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) and foreign agencies are behind the unrest in Balochistan.

“The interior minister’s comments are irresponsible and baseless,” senator Hasil Khan Bizenjo said.

Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) president Akhtar Mengal blamed security agencies, the Frontier Corps (FC) and the establishment for the ‘rotten’ law and order.

Baloch Students Organisation member Muhammad Jan Baloch expressed surprise over Malik’s statement, saying Khuzdar and Turbat were considered the most restive, as they are hundreds of kilometres away from the Iranian and Afghan borders.
