The figure included the cost of "the spill response, containment, relief well drilling, grants to the Gulf states, claims paid, and federal costs," it said in a statement.
The company, which after White House arm-twisting agreed a 20 billion fund to pay claims, said it was "too early to quantify other potential costs and liabilities associated with the incident."
BP on Monday said it had spent two billion dollars on the Gulf of oil spill.
