Car bombs kill 15 in Iraqi capital: officials

Three car bombs in Baghdad killed at least 15 people and wounded at least 58 late today, security and medical officials said, after a wave of attacks across Iraq earlier killed 56 people.

Three car bombs in Baghdad killed at least 15 people and wounded at least 58 late on Sunday, security and medical officials said, after a wave of attacks across Iraq earlier killed 56 people.

In the west of the city, a car bomb targeted a market in the Washash area, killing at least seven people and wounding at least 21, an interior ministry official and a medical official said.

In north Baghdad, another car bomb killed at least five people and wounded at least 22 near a restaurant in Shuala, while a third exploded in a commercial area of Hurriyah, killing three people and wounding 14, a ministry official and a medic said.
