French-Colombian ex-hostage Ingrid Betancourt and members of her family left Bogota on Thursday bound for Paris, where she will be welcomed on Friday by President Nicolas Sarkozy.
Betancourt, 46, is due to arrive in the French capital on Friday afternoon on a French jet that is also carrying her two children, her mother Yolanda Pulecio and Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner.
"I am eager to be in France, I am eager to be home," she said one day after a daring rescue by the Colombian military that ended her six-year jungle ordeal.
