A police spokesman says five people have been wounded in an explosion at a Moscow street market. Viktor Biryukov says an unidentified explosive device went off at a market in southern Moscow. He said the device exploded Saturday at one of the trading pavilions.

Biryukov wouldn't comment on possible perpetrators or give further details.

Moscow and other Russian cities have seen terror attacks and frequent explosions linked to turf battles between criminal clans.
