Police said in a Twitter post that their officers responded Monday to a shooting involving the former neighborhood watch leader.

A lawyer for Zimmerman said his client wasn't seriously injured after being involved in a shooting in Florida.

Attorney Don West says a bullet missed Zimmerman's head in Monday's shooting in the Orlando suburb of Lake Mary.

West says Zimmerman was sprayed with glass from his vehicle's windshield and other debris. He says Zimmerman was released from a hospital.
