Gunman kills ex-girlfriend in CNN office

A gunman shot dead his former girlfriend in the CNN Center complex in Atlanta before being shot by a security guard.
The man, identified as Arthur Mann in his early 30s, was lying in the hospital in stable condition.
The incident took place on Tuesday after an argument between the man and woman near the main entrance of the complex, police said, adding the man then shot her.
The woman was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital, they said.
Mann, who is now facing murder charges, was taken to the hospital in a critical condition and underwent a surgery, hospital sources said.
The shooting caused panic among the visitors in the CNN Center atrium and nearby CNN.com newsroom was evacuated for a brief period.
Eye witnesses said Mann was pulling his 22-year-old girlfriend Clara Riddle by hair. Riddle, an employee of the Omni hotel which in the complex, was crying and then struggle ensued and she was shot from point blank range.
"He looked like he had the gun right on top of her head and shot her," one eye witness said.
