Maoists attack Nepalese minister's vehicle

Maoist cadres today attacked the vehicle of Minister of State for Energy Chandra Singh Bhattarai in a Nepalese district but he escaped unhurt.

Maoist cadres on Sunday attacked the vehicle of Minister of State for Energy Chandra Singh Bhattarai in a Nepalese district but he escaped unhurt.

The incident took place in Rasuwa district located in the north of Kathmandu to inspect a hydropower project.

The minister escaped unhurt in the incident.

The cadres of Maoist affiliated Young Communist League pelted stones at Bhattarai's vehicle at Kalikasthan of Dhaibung Village some 27 km from the district headquarters Dhunchhe, according to the police.

Police said the attack left windowpanes of the car smashed but state minister Bhattarai was not hurt.

After tension in the area, the state minister had taken shelter in the security base camp in the district.
