Sandra Avila Beltran, dubbed as the 'Queen of the Pacific', is having beauty treatments in her cell at the Santa Martha Acatitla women's lockup, Daily Mail reported on Wednesday.

Mexico City's prison authority says a doctor was admitted to in January to perform what it called a 'procedure not authorised for inmates.'

The prison authority have said the facility's warden and medical director were fired since the incident came to light.

Beltran, alleged to be one of the leaders of the Sinaloa cartel, has been in custody since 2007 on suspicion of conspiracy to traffic drugs, money laundering, and organised crime.
