All 48 passengers were killed when a plane crashed outside Buffalo, New York on Thursday, a state police spokeswoman told MSNBC, after one person on the ground was also reported dead.

State police spokeswoman Rebecca Gibbons said that there were 48 people on the plane and "there were no survivors." A county official had earlier confirmed one fatality on the ground.
