Gilani gave the undertaking during talks with his Malaysian counterpart Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on the sidelines of D8 (group of eight developing Islamic nations) meeting here yesterday.

Referring to the signing of a Free Trade Agreement between the two countries, Gilani said it will facilitate linkage and market access between Pakistan and the growing economy of ASEAN.

"It would also provide opportunities to Pakistan industrialists to source out raw materials and intermediary goods from Malaysia at reduced duty enabling them to cut the cost of their exports," he said adding that Badawi had assured him of Malaysia's full support to Pakistan's efforts in becoming a full dialogue partner with ASEAN.
