Seven Taliban fighters nabbed: Pak army

Pakistani security forces captured seven suspected Taliban fighters in the northwestern Swat valley and cleared several militant-held compounds during operations in the lawless Waziristan tribal region, authorities said on Sunday.

Pakistani security forces captured seven suspected Taliban fighters in the northwestern Swat valley and cleared several militant-held compounds during operations in the lawless Waziristan tribal region, authorities said on Sunday.

Seven suspected militants were apprehended during search and clearance operations at Chuprail, Mingora and Dargai in the Swat valley, located 160 km from Islamabad.

Four militants also surrendered to security forces in the valley, the military said.

Troops carried out search and clearance operations in the Jandola, Shakai and Razmak sectors of Waziristan tribal region.

They also consolidated their positions at Mazakai and Sherkai in Shakai sector.

The security forces cleared a number of militant-held compounds and seized arms and ammunition, the military said.
