At least four earthquakes in less than two hours rattled the sea east of Taiwan and China on Friday, the official Xinhua news agency said.

The first earthquake, with a magnitude of 6.3, struck about 350 kilometers (220 miles) to the east of Taipei and about 450 kilometres from the nearest coastline of the Chinese mainland at 8:26 am, Xinhua said, citing the national earthquake monitoring agency.
The other three temblors, which were of magnitudes 5.6, 6.5 and 6.0, occurred at 8:31 a.m. (0031 GMT), 9:46 a.m. (0146 GMT) and 10:23 a.m. (0223 GMT) respectively, the report said. There were no reports of any damage.
