Taiwan ex-president's life term 'illegal': Chen spokesman
The life sentence handed to former Taiwan president Chen Shui-bian on Friday is "illegal", a spokesman for the ex-leader said.

The life sentence handed to former Taiwan president Chen Shui-bian on Friday is "illegal", a spokesman for the ex-leader said.
"The verdict is totally unacceptable. We think it is illegal as it violated the due process," said Chiang Chi-ming, a spokesman for Chen's office.
He said he was referring to a decision to replace the judges in the middle of the trial.
