Army spokesman Colonel Sansern Kaewkamnerd said the chopper crashed on Sunday on a mission to retrieve bodies from an earlier crash.

Sansern said the helicopter went down in the same forested area where two others crashed this week in bad weather, killing 14 people.

He added that three people are feared dead in the latest crash, with one soldier surviving.

It was not immediately clear what caused the latest incident. Sansern made the comments in an interview with the local Nation television station.
