"Two crew members - one man and one woman - were injured and sent to hospital" upon arriving at Tokyo's Narita airport, an airport official said, adding that it was not immediately known whether the injuries were serious.

The plane was carrying 16 crew, including the two injured, and 261 passengers, none of whom were hurt.

Two weeks ago nearly 50 people were injured aboard a Northwest Airlines Manila-Tokyo flight that hit turbulence near Narita.
