Ali Ahmed bin Shakar, director general of the Ministry of Health, was quoted on Thursday as saying the patient was released from hospital in the town of Al Ain. The remarks were carried by state WAM news agency.
The report says the patient's relatives were held in quarantine but showed no symptoms. They were to be released later on Thursday. Emirates is a major transportation and commercial hub, and home to the Middle East's biggest airport.
