Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has been accused of helping to steal paintings of an internationally acclaimed artist, Laila Shahzada. Laila’s daughter Shaheen has lodged court papers in Pakistan claiming Zardari colluded with her brother to steal 93 paintings from her flat, most of which were shipped to London, were the work of her mother. She wants police to question Zardari during his UK visit.
Pakistan police chief killed
Pakistan’s paramilitary force’s chief in Peshawar was killed on Wednesday when a suicide bomber struck his vehicle near the headquarters of the organisation. Police said the attacker targeted the car of Frontier Constabulary Commandant Sifwat Ghayur at the FC Chowk here. Ghayur was killed on the spot and several others, including passers-by, were injured in the attack, which took place near the headquarters of Frontier Constabulary.
