Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Chandla RD Prajapati has again hit out at the MP government, officials and his own party leaders and charged they were supporting illegal sand mining in the area.
The legislator has alleged the administrative officials didn’t listen to him because he was a Dalit.
Addressing a press conference at Chhatarpur circuit house, he told media that illegal sand mining in his Chandla assembly area was going on unabated.
Administrative and police officials are mute spectators and at times take action for namesake only.
“Officials don’t listen to me. The administration listens to all other MLAs but not me because I am Dalit,” he said.
“During Congress rule there was no sand mining in this area but under BJP government, large scale mining is continuing and neighbouring state’s Samajwadi Party leaders are also involved,” he alleged.
“All party leaders especially BJP’s leaders are involved in illegal sand mining. I know them but a thorough inquiry by the government can find them easily,” Prajapati said and threatened to launch a massive agitation if illegal sand mining in the area is not stopped.
On November 14, Prajapati with his son and district panchayat president Rajesh Prajapati and supporters had sat on dharna at a sand mine of the area.
The agitation ended after administrative officials assured of strict action against the alleged illegal sand mining.
