A day after an objectionable post on social media resulted in communal tension in MP’s Sagar town, the police arrested six persons and lodged three separate cases.
Sagar is the home district of MP home minister Bhupendra Singh.
Around 300 unidentified accused have been booked for the tension which resulted in injuries to at least four people, including a police station in-charge and a head constable.
“Three separate cases have been lodged and six persons have been arrested. The process of identifying 300 unidentified accused is underway,” Cantonment police station in-charge BM Dwivedi said.
Those arrested so far include the man who had allegedly uploaded the objectionable post. He has been booked under Sections 153(1), 295K of IPC and Section 66 of Information and Technology Act.
