HPBoSE Class 10 results: Girls outperform boys, Isha Chauhan tops with 99.14%

Girls outclassed boys once again in the Class 10 board examination conducted by Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBoSE), the result of which was declared on Tuesday.

HPBoSE secretary Vishal Sharma said of the 1,15,311 students, who appeared in the exam, 76,855 passed and 16,564 got a compartment. The overall pass percentage was 67.57%, a slight increase of 0.69% compared to last year’s 66.88.

Girl students scored over their male counterparts by bagging the top positions and among the 33 students, who have made it to the merit list of top ten, 25 are females.

Their pass percentage was also better. Among the 53,561 girl candidates 37,577 or 70.15% cleared the exam and of the 60,176 boys, 39,278 passed with a pass percentage of 65.27.

Isha Chauhan of Minerva Senior Secondary School in Ghumarwin of Bilaspur district topped the exam by scoring 99.14%. The second position was bagged by Riya Chauhan of SVN Public School in Sirmour district’s Nahan, who scored 99%.

Nikhil Rana of AVM High School in Khundian of Kangra, Aparna of S Vidya Mandir School in Ghumarwin and Vanshika of SVNM Public School in Bilaspur’s Kandrour tied for the third position by scoring 98.86%.

Parv Sharma of Little Angel School in Mehre of Hamirpur scored 98.57% to secure the fourth slot.

Mayank Thakur and Aditi Singh, both from Minerva Senior Secondary School in Ghumarwin, and Shalini of New Era Public School in Kangra’s Chhatri jointly bagged the fifth position in the merit list by scoring 98.43% marks.

Government schools performed poorly in the Class 10 exam with only one student figuring in the merit list.
