Maharashtra HSC results highlights: Science stream’s pass percentage 92.55%

Mumbai city news: More than 15 lakh students from across the state took the HSC exams this year

The results of Class 12 Maharashtra state board exams were announced at 1pm on Tuesday. More than 15 lakh students across Maharashtra, including 3.4 lakh from the Mumbai division, including Thane, Raigad, and Palghar, took the HSC exams between February 28 and March 25.

3.57pm: Science stream recorded highest pass percentage at 92.55%. Results of commerce and arts below par at 88.34% and 79.71%, respectively

3.40pm: 21, 503 students took the exam privately this year.

3.21pm: Students who took the exams privately (without appearing through college) have pulled down the overall results.

3:20pm: Mumbai ranks at the bottom of the nine divisions in the state in HSC exams.

2.52pm: Commerce stream: Shashikant Sherkar, from RA Podar College, Matunga, and Vedika Thakekar, from Mahatma College, Panvel, score 94.92%.

2.51pm: Aneesh Shetty, from Pace Junior Science College, scores 95.69%

2.48pm: Success rate for physics up to 92.64%, from 88.76%

2.47pm: 91.29% students passed maths this year, compared to 85.14% last year

2.45pm: Pass percentages soar in two out of five leaked HSC papers – mathematics and statistics, physics in Mumbai division.

2.25pm: 5,863 more students bag first class this year compared to last year, distinctions increase by 2,980

2.20pm: 1,32,449 students secure second class (below 60%), up from last year’s 10,404

2.14pm: More students score distinction this year, number up to 36, 424 from last year’s 33,444

1.56pm: Of the 3,39, 472 students who took the exam from Mumbai division, 2,89,708 passed

1.54pm: Pass percentage of fresh candidates is 88.21% for Mumbai division, 89.50% for the state.

1.52pm: The overall success rate (freshers and repeaters) of Mumbai division, including Thane, Raigad, Palghar, shot up to 85.34% from 83.3%. Maharashtra’s performance jumped to 87.14% from 84.25%.

1.51pm: Overall performance of students has improved compared to last year.

1.38pm: The overall success rate of Maharashtra is 87.14%. Mumbai’s pass percentage is 85.34%. In 2016, the state’s and Mumbai’s success rate was 84.03% and 83.03%, respectively

1.30pm: Ved Ahinave, 17, suffering from severe rheumatoid arthritis, a condition usually associated with the elderly, scored 61.23%

1.18pm: Across Maharashtra, girls recorded a success rate of 93.05%, while boys lagged behind with 86.65%
