Essential oils: Not only are they good for skin, they have health benefits as well

Essential oils can be very good for our skin. Additionally, these oils (Jojoba oil, Chamomile and Lavender oil to name a few) can have other health benefits as well.

Oiling the body routinely through the year has many health benefits and if, we were to opt for essential oils, the benefits are manifold. Essential oils like Jojoba oil and Calendula extract not only work wonders for the skin, if applied religiously, they also have impressive health benefits, says an expert. 1) Jojoba oil is very effective at balancing skin condition, preventing it from becoming too dry or oily.
2) It has antibacterial properties. It acts as an anti-inflammatory agent, soothing the irritated skin.
3) It also acts as moisturiser, relieving itching and dryness. It forms a protective layer over the skin, forming a barrier to external irritants, which can be an advantage in the case of eczema.
