It’s no secret that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice didn’t turn out the way most of us hoped it would. But there was always Suicide Squad to look forward to, right? But now, a new report suggests that Warner Bros is very worried about their super-hyped antihero movie because the trailers have been lying to us.
Batman v Superman review: Doesn’t come close to The Dark Knight movies
Devin Faraci of Birth.Movies.Death. reports that Suicide Squad is in the middle of large-scale reshoots right now. “Tens of millions of dollars” worth of reshoots, according to a source.
The word around town is that while the latest Suicide Squad trailer - the one with Bohemian Rhapsody - was extremely well received, it doesn’t represent the final film at all. The tone of the film is more serious than the trailer suggested. And after facing strong criticism for the overly grim tone of Batman v Superman, the studio is panicking.

The mandate is to add more jokes and banter to the film, because whatever little of it the movie had, they showed us in the trailers. Suicide Squad is scheduled for an August release, and while it isn’t uncommon for big movies to go through reshoots (Hello there Fantastic Four. We meet again), it is unusual for the reshoots to happen this close to release. Especially if they’re of the magnitude that is being reported.
Suicide Squad: Could it be the best trailer ever? No seriously
With Batman v Superman earning truckloads of money over its opening weekend ($400 million +) but taking huge backward steps in terms of quality, and Justice League - Part 1 on the brink of entering production, Warners is relying heavily on the success of Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad stars Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman and Viola Davis. It is directed by David Ayer.
