A national disaster response force (NDRF) team is racing against time to rescue a 6-year-old girl who fell in a bore well in Barer village near Alwar on Tuesday.

Additional superintendent of police (rural) Suresh Chand Kheenchi told HT that chances of the little girl’s survival are low.

He said Mukesh Meena’s son Rohit and daughter Komal were playing near bore well on Tuesday evening. While Rohit came home after some time, Komal continued playing alone when she fell into the well which was dug about a week ago.

Family members and villagers started searching for her when she did not return home. Once they found out that she had fallen into the well, they informed the administration around 11 pm.

Kheenchi said the NDRF team reached Barer village Wednesday morning and started the rescue operation.

The girl has been located between 100 to 110 feet in the bore well, but the rescue team has not been able to detect any activity or movement by her.
